| Немного о себе: | Giovanni Ferrari English/Portuguese= version Giovanni was born in Bahia but grew up in Belo Horizonte. His father is a Carioca (from Rio) and his mother is a Capixaba (from Espirito Santo). Giovanni showed his interest towards dance at a very young age. Already at the age of six he was doing his first dance steps with the ladies who came to his father's bar to dance. His father was happy to see his son learning to dance. However, he did not give his support for his son to take ballet classes later on as "ballet is not for men". Lambada became very popular across Brazil and the whole world when Giovanni was 12 years old. His father had bought Kaoma's vinil. That was Giovanni's first contact with dance Lambada together with his sister Maria. Giovanni and Maria won a number of Lambada competitions together. From there Giovanni developed his love towards the stage. He went on to do dance and theatre courses, including painting as well as scenario and costume design. Giovanni started the ballet class in Centro Mineiro de Dancas Classicas, where he later became a dance teacher. His first experience with Danca de Salon was in Elite Club in Belo Horizonte. There, among dance lovers, teachers, gigolos, madams and prostitutes, he found most of his inspiration. He learned everything about night life - surprises and dangers, happiness and sadness, truths and lies. Giovanni's first Danca de Salon teachers were Marlene and Nilde, who introduced him all of Belo Horizonte's best dancers, such as Valdir Birosca. Alaercio, Ronaldo, Lia, Carlos Bibito, Expedito Pele,Neguinho, Carlinhos, Chocolate, Juninho and the others Masters.....His first Danca de Salon partner was Dalva Pinho. Over next years, lambada was not very popular in Brazil. Samba de gafieira was becoming very popular in Rio de Janeiro. Giovanni started to teach Danca de Salon at Centro Mineiro de Dancas Classicas, where he met a ballet teacher, Katia Cruz. He took Katia's ballet classes and adored Katia's unique teaching methodology. Giovanni also improved his dance with other teachers, such as .... At the same time, Giovanni continued with the theatre course in Sesc. There he participated in a number of plays and productions with Ponto de Partida Group, Weracy Costa, Silvino Fernandes, Rosa Antuna and others. Forro was a highly popular dance in North-West and North of Brazil. It also become popular in South-West of Brazil from 1997 onwards. Giovanni was invited to teach at Grupo Primeiro Ato and to be a dancer and choreographer for Forro Escuro band. This changed his life forever. Giovanni was dividing his time between family, dance, theatre and school. At the end of 90s forro was still very popular. At the same time, Lambada was reborn and became Lambadazouk. Giovanni decided to dedicate more time to Lambada and started to go out with the best Lambadazouk dancers in Belo Horizonte - Rodrigo Delano, Flavia Contijo, Dario Dias and Leila Fernandes. Giovanni made many dance friends and partners at Dancarte School - Andre Sardinha, Soraia, Wagner Bolinha, Fatinha, Marcio Cubano, Sadam, Ricardo, Mauro, Yara, Raquel, Tereza, Maria Jose (Zeze), Juliana Batista, Lena and Helenice Maia. Giovanni went back to Bahia with a group organised by Casa do Zouk to celebrate Brazil's 500-year Birthday. This took him back to his origin. But it was also his good bye to Brazil as he already had been invited to go on a tour to perform in Europe with Forro Escuro band... At those days Giovanni spent most of his days in Cazouk in Passarela do Alcool. There he danced Lambada all days and nights. The only sad event from there is the fight between the police and native Indians in Coroa Vermelha next to Didi's partner, Patricia Morena's house. Next Giovanni arrived at the Old World.
